YMCA of the Triangle - Virtual Café Conversations

In the next installment of our Virtual Café Conversations webinar series, we had the opportunity to sit down with Gary Autrey of the YMCA of the Triangle. Gary is the Sr. Vice President of Information Services out of their Raleigh, NC headquarters (‘the Triangle’ refers to Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area of North Carolina). In this series, we’re meeting with Technology Executives to learn how their organizations are continuing to operate with all that 2020 is throwing our way!

The YMCA is a community-driven organization that brings people together. In times of social distancing, they’ve had to retool the way they support their communities. In this conversation you'll hear how years of planning have equipped the Triangle Chapter with the technology necessary to continue to provide essential services. The YMCA of the Triangle continues to offer programs that promote healthy communities and adhere to CDC Standards during the COVID -19 Stay at Home orders.

The YMCA has been a critical part of our communities nation-wide and the Triangle Chapter is no different. Through all the challenges that COVID -19 has presented, they continue to offer programs to the public that align with the 3 pillars of their mission statement:

Youth Development – Camp Hope is the Triangle’s YMCA Summer Camp and has been retooled to provide an affordable childcare offering for essential personnel.

Healthy Living – Delivering food and critical supplies to seniors and under-served communities. At the time of this recording, over 2,600 families have been helped and 3,300 meals served.

Social Responsibility – While following social distancing guidelines has postponed many offerings, the YMCA of the Triangle has continued its outreach with Blood Drives to help those in dire situations and Virtual Workout Classes to keep us all active while home.

The Stay With Us Campaign will help the YMCA continue to improve lives and strengthen the community. Please consider a donation if you are so inclined.
